What a day of drama!!

Hot on the heels of Burberry’s announcement that it will be launching a see-now-buy-immediately women’s and men’s show in September, Tom Ford has declared the same thing.
Ford has called off press previews of his Fall 2016 collection, which were scheduled in New York for next week, and will show and sell the offering, all in one go, in September. “In a world that has become increasingly immediate, the current way of showing a collection four months before it is available to customers is an antiquated idea and one that no longer makes sense,” Ford said in a release. “Our customers today want a collection that is immediately available . . . Showing the collection as it arrives in stores will remedy this, and allow the excitement that is created by a show or event to drive sales and satisfy our customers’ increasing desire to have their clothes as they are ready to wear them.”

What do you wear when its no longer freezing cold and neither is it blistering hot! The cambric suit is too warm, the lawn suit is too breezy. The long boots must be packed off, and no, its not the season for flip flops.
At this time of year, we opt for a more wearable option which isn’t warm and neither does it let you feel any chills, Silk. If you share our thoughts then we have good news. Nishat Linen recently launched their silk collection that have a wide range of traditional and contemporary designs. These are two and three piece suits which gives us the freedom of getting it sticthed whichever way we like (we love a silk kaftan)
A diverse range of designs to choose from, this collection features trendy tunics, scalloped embroidery, fancy brooches along with beaded details, party wear clothes fit for formal and glamorous occasions. The prints range from bold Ikat designs that give the illusion of movement and suggest geometric shapes within an overall print to Middle Eastern patterns and classic Paisley motifs.
The colors also range from whites to bright yellows, making the collection feel very fluid and feminine, just the way silk should look!
If you haven’t seen yet, here are some styles and designs that can go a long way in your wardrobe!

Lush, shiny, manageable and healthy hair can be yours, with coconut oil.
If your hair is dry and brittle, chances are you are not consuming enough fresh water. Water helps to keep the entire body hydrated, including hair and skin. As we age, hormone health plays a significant part in the health of hair as well.Coconut oil is rich in antioxidants, and has antiviral, anti-fungal, and antibacterial properties. When used on hair, it improves scalp health, fights infections and fungus, supports hair growth, all while adding volume and shine without the common harmful chemicals.

1. Conditioner

Coconut oil is free of the scary chemicals that lurk in commercial hair products, and is an excellent conditioner, for all types of hair.
Coconut oil helps to prevent damage from combing and brushing, and it is safe to use on children. It can be used as a leave-in conditioner, or used as an intensive conditioner for a couple of hours, or overnight.

TO CONDITION:
For short hair, start with just a ¼ teaspoon, warmed in your palms. For longer, thicker hair, you may need up to a ½ tablespoon. You want to use sparingly on thinner hair, as it can weigh hair down if too much is used. Pay particular attention to ends and the shaft of the hair. Smooth through hair, and proceed to style as normal.
As an intensive conditioner to restore hair, after washing with a gentle natural shampoo, apply 1 teaspoon (for short hair), 2 teaspoons (for shoulder length hair) and 1 tablespoon (for long hair) after warming in the palm of your hands. Apply to hair shaft and ends, and then rub into scalp. Cover with a shower cap, and leave on for 1-2 hours, or overnight. Wash with gentle shampoo, and style as normal.

2. Hair Growth

Coconut oil is a safe, effective, and reasonably priced solution if you have thinning hair. It can actually help grow hair, longer and thicker.

HAIR GROWTH TREATMENT:
When massaged into the scalp, coconut oil helps to improve blood circulation, supporting hair growth. It is important to massage the coconut oil into the scalp with gentle pressure for 10 minutes, 3 or 4 times per week. If you want to just focus on scalp conditioning and hair growth, you will only need 1 teaspoon.

3. Dandruff
People have used coconut oil for skin for hundreds of years to fight dandruff. This unsightly, and often itchy, condition can be caused by dry skin conditions, sensitivity to the harsh chemicals in hair care products, and commonly yeast-like fungal (Malassezia) infections.

TO TREAT DANDRUFF:
Essential oils including lavender, wintergreen, thyme, and tea tree, all help to fight fungus and yeast. For an intensive dandruff treatment, after washing hair, mix 2 teaspoons of coconut oil with 5 drops of one of the oils mentioned above, or a combination, and massage into the scalp.
Be sure to really work the mixture into the scalp, from neck to forehead, and behind the ears. Cover with a shower cap, and if possible sit in the sun for 20-30 minutes to increase the heat, or simply use a hair dryer on a low setting to heat the cap.
Remove cap, and wash with a gentle natural shampoo. Repeat this 2 to 3 times per week, or even more often, as desired. Like with the conditioning or hair growth treatment, you can leave it on overnight. Just be sure to wear the shower cap to avoid staining bed linens.

4. Styling

Yes, coconut oil is a great styling agent, and free from the dangerous chemicals in conventional hair care products! This is one of the most overlooked coconut oil for hair uses. Hair dryers, flat irons, hot rollers, and curling irons zap the moisture out of the hair shaft causing it to be brittle and prone to tangling.
Coconut oil helps to prevent this type of thermal damage, and when used in the proper amount for your hair length and texture, tames fly away, frizz, and more. People with thick curly hair often fight frizz in humid climates. Coconut oil helps to tame the frizz, by penetrating into the curls. It can be applied throughout the day for touch-ups, just be sure to use it sparingly.

TO TAME FRIZZ:
Start with a tiny amount (1/4 teaspoon – 1 teaspoon) depending on hair, warming in palms. Smooth from root to tips, and blow dry and style as desired. It will take just a bit longer to dry your hair, but it will be soft, shiny, and manageable.
Disguise split ends, and nourish them at the same time by using just a tiny bit of coconut oil on just the ends.
TO PROTECT FROM THE SUN:
Hair, like skin, is prone to sun damage. Coconut oil is a natural sunscreen, with an SPF of 8.(4) If you are planning a day out in the sun, use it as a leave-in conditioner for all day protection. And, while you are at it, use it on exposed skin as well. Coconut oil is a safe and effective sunscreen for children and adults alike.
TO DETANGLE:
Detangling hair is a chore; and can often cause breakage. Coconut oil improves hair break stress by penetrating the hair shaft. (5) It also surrounds the hair, and makes it easier to remove knots after washing, or in the evenings. Smooth a small amount through hair, paying particular attention to tangled areas and damaged ends. Use a wide tooth-comb, starting from the bottom, and slowly work your way up.
Using coconut oil for hair regularly will improve the overall health of the hair, and help to prevent tangles. If tangled hair is a continuing problem, trimming the damage ends will help.

5. Lice Prevention & Lice Treatment

Because coconut oil penetrates the hair shaft, and the scalp, it helps to repel lice and can keep their eggs from attaching to the hair. With the addition of essential oils including  tea tree and anise, lice don’t have a chance.

Apply the solution all over the scalp, massage in, and pulling through the ends. Comb through the hair with a fine tooth-comb. Cover in a shower cap, and allow to sit for 2 hours. If possible, sit in the sun or use a hair dryer to periodically warm up the cap. Carefully remove shower cap, and seal in zip lock bag for disposal.
At the end of 2 hours, comb hair once again, prior to washing and rinsing thoroughly, twice. While hair is still wet, combine 2 cups of apple cider vinegar and 1 cup water in a small spray bottle. Saturate the hair, spraying ½ the bottle on the scalp and hair. Lean over the sink and pour the remaining mixture over the hair, massaging lightly.
Rinse thoroughly and comb hair once again with a fine tooth-comb. Follow with a light application of coconut oil, cover with a shower cap, or style as desired, and allow to remain on the hair until next washing.

E
very woman wants to be beautiful! And some of us will spend countless hours trying to look our best, but most of us are making beauty mistakes that we had no idea were all wrong! I’m certainly guilty of a few of these.

1. Knowing How To Use Your Concealer

Which do you apply first, your concealer or foundation? It seems like this questions is somewhat of a debate because I’ve read a little of both on some of the most popular beauty blogs. I’ve always applied my foundation first, otherwise it seems redundant to apply concealer only to have the coverage wiped away with the application of your foundation, so in this case, as long as your concealer is blending in well and giving you the coverage you want, do whichever works for you! On that note, here are a few things you may be doing wrong with your concealer:
  • Too much in a targeted area. Instead, layer! Apply a small amount over your blemish, give it a chance to dry, then apply another layer. Continue layering if needed. For the best results, use a setting powder in between layers to prevent it from wearing off.
  • Using the same concealer for every job. Guilty! Every color has a different job. A peach-toned concealer is best for under-eye circles because it cancels out blue shadows. A green-toned concealer cancels out red (pimples and blemishes). Use it for your first layer and then finish with a concealer that matches your skin tone. Yellow-toned concealers are best for evening out your skin tone (larger areas).
  • Not taking advantage of its many benefits. It’s not just for covering blemishes and under-eye circles! I’ve made this handy pictorial to show you how to truly take advantage of your concealer. Hope this helps
2. Using The Wrong Color Eyeliner

Unless you have a darker skin tone, I feel that black eyeliner can be a little harsh, and perhaps best saved for a night out. A light to dark brown looks best on light to medium skin tones, especially if you have blonde hair, and green or blue eyes.

  • 3. Harsh Eyeliner (Not Blending)This is one of my biggest pet peeves. No matter what color of eyeliner you choose, if it’s applied like a marker, it’s going to look harsh. This doesn’t do your beautiful eyes any justice. To achieve a more natural look, use a pencil liner instead of a liquid liner. And, a lot of pencil liners come with a blending brush on the opposite end– use it! Cara from Mascara has a ton of great beauty tips, and I especially like the way she blends her eyeliner
    .

    4. Tacky Lipstick
Don’t get me wrong, the right shade of lipstick can instantly give you a confidence boost, but a bold, unnatural color isn’t attractive on most women. It distracts from the rest of your face and can make you look like you’re trying too hard. If you do decide to make a bold choice, keep the rest of your makeup simple, and skip the gloss. A bright lipstick combined with smokey eyes and flushed cheeks can look more clown-like than pretty.

    5. Wearing Bronzer All Over
If you’re bronzer-challenged like myself, you may be surprised to know that this stuff is not meant to be swept all over your face. The idea is to apply it to the areas where the sun would naturally hit. Stick to the outer edges of your face– the top of your forehead, cheekbones, and jawline. When done correctly, you will actually be drawing the number 3 on both sides of your face.
    6. Drawn-On Eyebrows
I’ve found it to be fast, easy, and completely natural looking! I couldn’t resist sharing my new favorite makeup find. I hope this helps in your pursuit for the perfect eyebrows.

    7. Wearing Lip-liner All Wrong

One of the biggest beauty blunders that most women don’t realize they’re doing is not blending makeup properly. Harsh lines are the last thing you want if you’re trying to achieve a natural look. Eyeliner is a popular one (my biggest pet-peeve), but lip=liner is second on the list.
A lot of women wear lip-liner to keep their lipstick from bleeding, but the harsh line that show up once your lipstick starts fading isn’t pretty. The easy solution to this is simple: Blend, baby, blend.

    .

    8. Over-Washing Your Face
Beauty starts with great skin, and sometimes we just plain overdo it when it comes to washing. Everyone has a different skin type, and some of us are older than others, so there are many factors involved, but if you find that after applying your foundation you can see flaky, dry skin…. stop washing so much! Let your natural skin oils moisturize for you.

It’s important to wash before bed to remove makeup, but you can skip the wash entirely in the mornings, or do what I do and use baby wash. It’s gentle enough to make you feel clean without robbing your skin of its natural oil. Did you know that you can also use baby wash once a week to wash your hair to get rid of build-up? It works just like a clarifying shampoo, but at a fraction of the cost

    9. Wearing Face Powder

Face powder is great for locking in your makeup and getting rid of shine, but this stuff can really age you! It magnifies wrinkles and any hair/peach fuzz you may have. Most women don’t need face powder at all, but if you like to use it to keep the shine down (I use these), use powder on your T-zone only (nose and forehead). As you get older, it should become less and less part of your morning makeup routine.

  • 10.Too Much Perfume
One spray is too much! Perfume and cologne have always been offensive to me, and I think a lot of people feel the same. Not only is it a huge turn-off, but it can also cause headaches and allergic reactions. You should only be able to smell someone if you’ve got your nose snuggled up right next to them, not from across the room.

I feel like dry shampoo is now the 8th wonder of the world! The idea of putting powder in a can to absorb oil is just plain genius. It’s torture having to wash, dry, and style your hair every day, and dry shampoo has saved many of us countless hours under the heat of our hair dryer.
The first time I used dry shampoo, I was a little disappointed, only to find out that I was just doing it wrong. My biggest blunder was not waiting for it to absorb. Now I spray it on and let it sit in my hair while I do my makeup, and by the time I’m finished, my hair looks better than it did after being freshly washed the day before.
Here are a few things you may not realize your doing wrong with your dry shampoo, and how to fix them! Every girl should be able to take advantage of this miracle in a bottle.
